Amazon Kindle

Read anywhere.

To celebrate the 10 year Kindle anniversary, and to encourage readers to pick up their books on the go, we gave the Kindle apps a bright new look.

McAfee

McAfee has had decades of success providing desktop computer security for millions of customers worldwide. As habits shift to be more mobile, our business and products had to shift to online. Our challenge was to refresh a product and brand to let users live their lives more confidently online.

Microsoft Band

No one saw this coming.

We announced and delivered the Microsoft Band fitness wearable the same day. Inventory would be sold out for months.  As the Design Team Leader, this was a mountain of hard work, and a mountain of great fun.

Xbox

Re-crafting and re-defining the user experience and brand motion language for a beloved brand is a rare opportunity. I had the pleasure of building and leading this world-class motion interaction team. From design strategy to execution, we delivered volumes of explorations and final work for Xbox Smartglass, Xbox for Windows, and Xbox One.

Clients and Brands I’ve worked with:

Larry and team were instrumental in successfully delivering the brand refresh. He was involved every step of the way and was a critical voice in our brand development. I trust his eye for design, his understanding of the customer's view point and his story telling ability such that we more effectively connect with customers.

He is a resilient leader incredibly capable of navigating changing environments to deliver best results possible.

Judith Bitterli

Senior Vice President, McAfee

Larry knows his stuff, period. I had the good fortune of getting Larry to work on a strategic project at Xbox and he was able to bring his considerable talent, passion, professionalism, and appetite for hard work to bear. I quickly learned to trust his eye and instincts, and I looked to him as the key partner to bring the experience vision to life. Our work together  became an important piece of the division’s strategy, having visibility all the way to the CEO level and to key stakeholders across the organization

Paolo Malabuyo

Director of Design, Google

Larry gets design process. And he can teach and inspire his team to expand their edges to become better thinkers, problem solvers and designers. He can set a creative vision with enough ambiguity that it leaves room for designers to play and come up with creative solutions they might not have thought of with greater definition and direction. That's a hard skill and one I have really tried to learn from Larry.

Director, User Research (former direct report), Hubspot
